I think that Elizabeth Choy is a great heroine. Not only did she excel in her studies, she also had a great character. She received many medals for her achievements. She was also a teacher and taught in several schools.
However, she was caught and imprisoned during World War II. The japanese tortured her badly and electrocuted her during the World War II for information and from then, she has been afraid of electrical appliances, not even daring to touch a switch. Her husband was tortured badly too and he stayed in prison for a long time. Finally, he was released from the prison but his health did not fully recover.
After they were released, the British told them that their house was in ruins and that it was also heavily looted.
She is also very modest as she did not want to be remembered as a heroine of war but just as a peace-loving lady. She is a good role model for everyone and I hope that many people will follow in her footsteps.
